Call for Speakers
Share your Big Data expertise at the 6th annual StampedeCon Big Data Conference. Last year’s speakers’ presentations were well-received and prompted great questions from an engaged audience. With 100,000+ views of past StampedeCon speakers’ slides on our SlideShare page, your message will continue to be heard across the world even beyond the conference.
Take a look at 2016’s sessions to learn about some of our previous speakers and their presentations.
If your proposal is accepted, we can help with the travel and lodging expenses to get you to St. Louis. We can cover your flight expenses (up to $500) as well as up to two nights at a hotel near the venue (up to $200 per night) and transportation to/from the airport.
A diverse group of professionals attend including developers, engineers, system architects, scientists, executives and many others. The audience for your presentation, however, may be more specific depending on the session type you choose below.
We would like to hear what you are working on and how you’ve achieved results with Big Data. This can include discussion of your analytics processes, business-specific use cases, etc. or even specific tools, processes or libraries you use, such as Kafka, Spark, Flink, NoSQL databases, machine learning libraries, experiences with cloud-based Big Data tools, etc. We’d also like to see examples of end-to-end architectures that are actually in use at a practitioner site (not just general architectural patterns).
In general, your presentation should fit within one of these categories:
- Non-technical presentation from your company describing how you’ve found value in Big Data
- Moderately-technical architecture presentation describing the integration of Big Data technologies
- Technical presentation about developing for, installing and/or operating Big Data technologies
Work for a Big Data Vendor? If you work for a Big Data vendor and you want to submit a speaking proposal, your presentation must be vendor-neutral and not contain sales/marketing/advertising material of your products/services, such as feature lists of proprietary products, claims of how much time/money was saved with your product/service, lists of customers you’ve worked with, etc. Instead, presentations could focus on general industry trends, thought leadership topics, or technical discussions of new architectures or free open-source projects (that can easily be used independently of your products/distributions).
